I've only been using Mcam 9.0 for 2 weeks now and can't figure something out.
Please look at this file and in operations highlight all and verify the part.
When it gets done go to the top view and the flats on the sides, the 45 deg
angle sides aren't smooth. It looks like it is leaving a plateau on both sides.
? Why?

Also why does it show some "scalloping" on the top edge where the radius is?

#3 the top profile, instead of running this the way I have it can anyone tell me how to profile this going back and forth in the X axis and in Y from front to back instead of going around the whole part?

Surface finish parallel should solve your problem, you can tighten up the step over to get a better surface finish, .01 with a 3/8 ball end mill should be about right.

Did you take a look at the sides?

I am not sure what you meant there, if you mean looking down from the top view, you see a triangular section at the right and left with scalloping. That problem will disappear with the parallel toolpath. Let me know if that's not it

If you run the outside profile so you can see the sides cut.
Look at the flats on the side. (if you were in top view-they would
be the flats that are facing up and out about 45 deg)
After you run the profile and rotate the part you will see that the cut
comes off the inside radius not smooth and the same going into the outside radius.
Instead of a smooth transition it steps out a little.
Why?

Its probably just a graphics issue, like this



If so, click on the configure tab in verify



and turn up the quality
