Question cheap sources of blank copper clad single or double sided PCBs?

I'm looking for a (preferably) cheap source
for blank copper clad single or double sided PCBs
that work well with a cnc milling machine (i'm going to use 60deg 1/8" bits from drewtronics)

    Anyone have some links?

    I know of
    - American Science and surplus sells some, sometimes.
    - radioshack has their pcb etch kits
would be nice to find large sheets so I can do many boards at once...

I find it on Ebay all the time. All kinds of sizes, copper weights and board thickness. Thinktink has 5 packs of 9x12 boards for about 38 dollars. But can usually find it cheaper on Ebay.

    found a couple here:

most of them are small. anyone have sources for larger sheets?
otherwise, i can probably make do with this... though it'd be nice to have larger than 20" sheets...

    this one's not bad at 12" x 18"

maybe i'm missing a search term

Another question: what's a proper thickness I want to use when milling PCBs? (i.e. no thinner than.... ? )

    Careful! They are thin.

    Dear Subatomic:

I don't know if you noticed that the 12"x18" boards you found are 1/2 the "standard"
thickness, which is 1.6mm or .06". Also, the s&h charge doubles the asking price...

    subatomic,

I like to use .06" thick fr4, but .03" can work well too. Depends on the method you will use to hold your board down flat, because when milling your boards this one detail can make all the difference.

I purchase my circuit board material off ebay, but as Arquibaldo notes watch the details of the auction.

    Thick copper blank boards

Hi, I thought I would tag this question on to the original since it is also related to board searching.

The FR4 boards blank boards I have found so far are all either 0.5 or 1 oz copper. It seems that the standard methods to increase the copper thickness are to plate on more copper up to about 4 oz max typ as needed.

I am looking to make some boards that will need at least 2 oz copper, and since I tend to over due things anyway, I figured what I really want is 4 oz copper plus a gold top coat (my preferred solder base)

    Questions:
    - Does anyone sell singe or double sided 2 or 4 oz copper clad blank boards ?

    - Does anyone sell the thicker copper foil that I could use to make my own boards (prefer to buy, but will do if needed)

    - I guess to Au plate onto copper traces means that either they are "connected" or it is electroless plating. Any suggestions on this ?

    Thanks

    Harry

I've bought 2oz copper clad off of an ebay seller, but it's something you have to watch for, not there all that frequently.
