I've been watching the thread titled " Trouble" as well as a number of others detailing the same sort of issues. I think there may be some fundamental changes coming in this whole hobby/ small business industry.
BAD NEWS-
As the Chinese economy contracts and orders for these machines begins to dry up, you will see a further deterioration of an already marginal quality control system. With 300-400 million migrant unemployed wandering the streets, the Chinese will save money by hiring more and more unskilled farmers to do the assembly and packaging. Quality control will begin to revert back to the way it was in the 80's.
GOOD NEWS-
Some enterprising and optimistic guy over here will take the gamble to start buying the finished castings and other components from China and do the final assembly and testing here. The current state of our own economy will mean that there is also a good supply of skilled workers willing to lower their wage expectations in exchange for steady employment.
