    limit switches

Is there any advanatage in having all your +/- xyza limit switch on more then one input on the bob.. i can see it saving inputs if they all on one input... is it also better to have homes all on separte inputs or can the all be on same input but alone from limits?

im not sure how mach would handle all home switch on one input.....
can someone explain this to me... something tell me they sould be on separte
    inputs?

My machine... Since I know my machine I put all hard limit switches in series because I am limited by inputs on my dual port LPT. It's pretty darn easy to figure out what switch I have hit. There's also the fact that crashing the Z depth makes it pretty obvious what is wrong. Hooking limits in series makes room for free inputs for the homing switches. As far as I know, (I admit this is not hard fact) Mach3 requires seperate inputs for homing switches.

If you are able to set up separate limits, do it. I have had a few problems with my limits all hooked up together because if one goes out, they all go out and then you have to look for the problem. Aside from that, I think its nice to have separate ones just because I dont like to have some features that work and others that just "kinda" work. But as for now, Im stuck with one limit.
