    Newbie need help!!

    Guys,
    Help is appreciated here.
I am wondering if we can possibly create lathe polygon turning in mastercam.
If so, can anyone give me directions on how to do it?

    Thanks in advance

    Question Polygons???

    lathe polygon turning in mastercam.
    Just a query,
You want to turn flats on the outside of a rotating part ?
    or
put a hexagon hole into the end of a part ?

hexagon hole , maybe, but not sure??? ( I think a 3 flute tool into a square end cap

flats on the outside diameter, then a lathe with 4th axis is required with live tooling,
    or
have bloody good X-axis to C-axis control and syncronised, much better than mult-start threading

You can mill an OD hex with C axis motion. You cant turn a Hex. I dont know of any Cam system that can do that. Only a few controls may have a built in Canned cycle.
