Mori SL-00 X axis Ball Screw

Am looking for an X axis ball screw for my Mori SL-00. Just took the noisy one out to find the previous owners brass machining dust had gotten into the X axis and pitted the ball screw.

Does anybody have a spare one lying around ?

Otherwise... I don't know who made it for Mori or the part number.... any help would be appreciated !

    sl00 ballscrew

If its not a Mori made ballscrew ( yes, they have a ballscrew mfg facility in the Nara plant) it would be most likely a NSK.

    Mori Ball Screw

Thanks underthetire. It is a Mori discreet part most likely made in their own plant. I have spoken to NSK and they reckon it either isn't one of their parts or it's a 'locked' part meaning though they may make it you can only buy it from Mori, who want many thousands of dollars for it.

I also have a Victor TNS-3 which goes under the name Victor Fortune in the USA. I had a look at it's ball screw and it is the same 28mm OD, 6mm lead/pitch with the same taper end at the top servo end. Only difference is the Victor ball screw hangs in air at the other end whereas the SL00 is seated in bearings. I checked because the Victor machines of old are exact copies of the Mori machines.

So am still looking for a replacement ball screw......

    ballscrew

Yes, Mori supports the screws on both ends. They usually stretch the ballscrews between the bearings for thermal expansion. If I remember correctly, the SL0 was not stretched, can't be sure though. You can have your ballscrew rebuilt though.
