Question Heat Sink Too Thick For The 251?

Am starting to put things together for my next machine and picked up 4 251's when they were on sale and want to mount them on some heat sink.

Below is a piece of heat sink I have had for a while but was wondering if it was too thick from the mount surface to fins?

Also what do you think about the spacing, should they be further apart for more heat dissipation?

    Thanks

No such thing. A heatsink cannot be too thick or have too many fins.:-) From the looks of the sink, the drives will be barely warm even without a fan.

My last job was at a plant that made custom heatsinks to order.

Mass moves heat, surface area radiates heat. The more the better.

Thanks. I gotta run and tell my wife "see I told you hording all these treasures would come in handy some day"

Yea, I didn't run and tell her all the times I couldn't find the treasure and had to go buy another. Well that's a balance in my life, and I'm sticking to the story.
