If you're thinking of buying a MaxNC, don't. I'm a former owner of one and there are far more accurate, robust and trouble free small mills to spend your money on. Just search the forum for MaxNC and you'll see why.

If someone has given you one for free, you've come to the right place to get help making it run.

All I have to say on this is if there is options....... MAXNC should not be one of them. As an owner of one of these flimsy machines I can attest to the amount of work needed to the machine to get any type of descent results from it. (Do a search) i have a thread somewhere on here about the exhaustive work I did to my maxnc15 to get half way descent results.

Just a rundown, the electronics are crap at best. The frame........ flimsy, the acme screws and backlash nuts..... way way to small. Spindle runout.... Oh dont get me started there! Getting and keeping the machine square...... Oh dear!!!!!!! Gib adjustments........ a pain in the butt! Oh, but it sure is a pretty blue color!!!!!

Ya from the looks of things that's not the machine to have, I saw one on craigs list close to me and thought I would loball him and offer and see what happend, I can't afford a big expencive machine and for 700.00 thought it would be the way to go, with that said I think I'll pass on it.Thanks for all the info .Chris
