Anyone have any experience using deskcnc for laser cutting? Please give some input on how well it worked and any post processor changes you had to make.

My sons and I started to combine a cast-off Isel with DeskCNC and a laser for cutting and photo engraving.
We hit a snag with the lasers when we decided to adapt existing surgical lasers instead of building from scratch using "junk" parts. In order to adapt, we need documentation and schematics for the lasers we are using. That hasn't been as rapid a process as we anticipated. I guess we are not throwing around the correct amount of hundred dollar bills!
So we are not experienced, as your question indicated, but we are in the "trying hard to be" mode. We appreciate the forum and will be checking in here to see who else is working with DeskCNC and laser cutting, etc.
Thanks
Marc and sons
I'm using the laser W power post processor,it works ok for vector cutting but I can't do raster engraving, Carl is working on a raster engraving postprocessor but it's not done yet.
Also I'm using the pwm to control the laser power supply and it works nice.
