    Adapt NEMA-frame motor to Metric?

I'm back on my motor-swap kick, and would like to swap my metric 90L-frame motor to something like a NEMA-56 frame. (My purpose is to get a higher-rpm motor). Yes, I can find 3600 rpm 90L motors, but they're not common here in the US and hence very expensive (like $500-$600). An equivalent NEMA-56 motor costs about $120-$175.

So I thought I could make an adapter plate and an adapter bushing to do this, but perhaps something commercial exists already?

    Cheers,
    -Neil.

Are you talking flange mount or foot mount here?
