    Exclamation Parallel Port Options

    Hello Everyone,

I am considering using my laptop to run my mill but I don't have an available parallel port. Other then buying a docking station or port replicator is there a way or a product out there that I can use. There are several USB to Parallel and Serial to Parallel adapters on the market is there a way of making one of these to work. All of these options including the docking staions and port replicators have to be hooked up throught the computers USB port can this be done.

    Thanks
    Jason

Something like this might work. Expensive, though.

Take note that USB to Parallel adaptor won't work! They are meant only for printers. I've tried that

This is another option (http://www.transdigital.net/) about USD89.

might better check to see that the required amount of voltage is delivered to operate your driver board.
I have a laptop, toshiba, with a docking station and it does not have enough volts to operate the xylotex

DeskCNC will run from a USB to serial adaptor.
