Has anyone tried to change the Osp 700m to a pc based control, I would like
to keep the drives and motors so does anyone have any ideas on this.

as far I communicated with soviet CNC engineers, Okuma is impossible at this point of view. Okuma single source philosophy leads to difficulties using Okuma with other control.
Thanks Algirdas,
Your reply confirms what I am begining to find out,

okuma has a pc based control now (Thinc P200). is the machine worth having okuma retrofit it? what model?
Infinity rebuild will retrofit a PC control (thiNC - P200) to your machine, but as said before, is the machine worth converting? This would require changing out drives, motors, etc. = high $$ - Why do you want a PC? If you are just after networking, Okuma can add Ethernet to the machine and add it to your PC network.
Maybe it's worth to ask Okuma for retrofit with P200.
Suppose, motor drives and motors and all periphery will work with minor change. But the costs ...
I believe, the task (wish) must be divided into smaller. Why do You want to have PC based control for the machine?
