    Donate your defective G201.

Does anyone have a defective Gecko G201 drive that I can use for research?

What sort of research do you have in mind?

I am writing an article about circuit board layout design of several different stepper motor drivers and create a comparison table. By the way, I am a student.

If you like, send me a self-addressed return envelope and I'll be happy to send you a shot drive. Weight of the drive is 4 oz, dimensions are 2.5" by 2.5" by 0.8".

Will the defective board have all the parts mounted?

    Sure.

Sounds like a very interesting article; what publication is it going to appear in? I would be very interested to read it because I've never seen an article that uses printed circuit board layout design as a basis of drive comparison. What other drives will you be comparing?

I will be writing the article for a class project and I have until Feb. 17th to turn it in. I could submit it to some trade magazine publisher - maybe EDN or Design News.

Other drives will be included for comparison - Xlyotec (spelling?), homecnc, and others that I don't remember from the top of my head. The comparsion will be to evaluate the circuit board layout, not it's electrical parameter.

I will send the SASE to Gecko ASAP and thank you for your donation.

You can also send it back for repair. If it's repairable and the drive is under warantee, we fix them for free.
