    HURCO-TM8-Lathe

    Hi guys, im very newbie,

    trying to figure out a prompt error command:

    "Motion Command Exceeds Axis Travel"

    any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

    One idea: maybe this an error in programming a position block, if in conversational mode.

    After calibrating the Axis, check the Machine Position displays for X & Z. Write Down the X and Z values. The machine will calibrate on the X and Z + Limit. This is the Max travel you can program in a position block if the Position block has Where = Move to XZ and Reference = Machine Zero. Use the numbers written down above, or something a little less than max travel.

    You can also call the Hurco Applications Dept. for assistance.

    thank you for your help, the problem was during part set up and tool set up. The tool kept working behind the chuck. Like you mentioned I finally got the Z & X position right.
