    Hey am,
I started working on bolting the ATC on the g0704 july of last year.
Lost interest till Dec when I drew up some new toolracks that use the new TTS tools that slide in with grippers.
Actually I side tracked and made the ATC 4 which uses the same type slide in rack with grippers last fall.

Haven't been back to it since but it would work with the new racks (12 or 16 tools) and a modded macro.
I want to use something different for a change to swing the arm though likely would just go with an air cylinder but there are lots of choices.
It's a stout and reliable ATC with tons of tool changes under it's belt already from it's days on the X2.
Doesn't interest me enough right now to finish because I'm having too much fun with other projects.

    Re: Hoss ATC Number 3

    Hi,
I am new on CNC Zone
I like your ideas about X2.
Actually I am converting also a X2 to CNC,
so your ideas are more than welcome.

Today, I have tried to make a power draw bar
like yours, but it fastens not a lot. It works, but
I can turn the tool with my hand.
And to release it, it needs a lot of force.
    I use 6 springwashers and a 18 mm direct collet M12
Do you use special or modified collet ?

    Best Regards from Austria

Are you using TTS tooling with the 3/4 shanks or did you make your own.
TTS tools will need a 3/4 collet that has the face ground down for clearance.
    32086 - TTS-R8 adaptor collet
They have a 3/4 collet for MT3 spindles though you'll need a 3/8-16 drawbar for it.

    Re: Hoss ATC Number 3

    Hi Hoss

I have made my own tool holder.
I will make an ATC so I have made it so
that it falls out himself when collet open.

But Problem is solved allready, I use another 18mm collet
and this collet works perfect, think Chinese Quality issue :-)

But another problem comes up. With my originale spindle,
the end of the collet looks out only round about 10 mm
    out of the gearbox.

To work with a fix toolrack, I think more than 30 mm are needed?
Which modification are to do with the spindle?

    BR

Can you share some pics of what you are talking about, I'm not quite understanding what you're saying.
