Question Need Help looking to purchase our first CNC router from China.

Any recommendations or personal experience would be greatly appreciated. We are currently talking to SignKey and Maxicam. The machine we are interested in is 1325 with vac hold down and 2.2Kw spindale.
Also we require good accuracy for small engraving work. Will a servo drive system deliver better quality than steppers?

If you are looking to purchase rather than build and curse then You must visit alibaba.com a trabe portal and check out the full range of Chinese CNC gear and be amazed at the ripoffs some machine onsellers impose on their customers.

And yes notionally a servo system is a bettr proposition than a stepper motor solution.

with a servo if You drive the loop hrder You have a chance of achieving higher speed... with a stepper if the load torque exceeds servo torque driving the stepper harder simply means you lose more steps ( and all the variants inbetween).

Rocket has imported several machines from china and I am sure that he can point you in the right direction.

This lengthy thread is about his first purchase: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...outer+purchase

Just out of interest would yo be interested in a second hand industrial router?

At work we have 3 Multicam routers and are looking to get rid of one and upgrade our big 2 head router.

    We're located in Port Melbourne
