    New to CNC what software to use

    Hi all i am a complete newbie to cnc and in the process of converting my mill and lathe to cnc but don't know what cam software to use i currently use solidworks for all my design so i need something that will accept solidworks files and is easy to create tool paths and generate G-code
    any suggestions would be much appreciated

    GibbsCam seems to becoming more & more popular in our area.

    Drawing can be a struggle until you understand it, but works well with solids

    GibbsCam

    I like the way gibbs works with modeling programs. I use autodesk inventor and there is a plug-in that allows you to transfer parts from within the inventor interface directly to gibbs. As far as I know there is one for your program as well.
