    ?? 4 fix gantry designs

have a question about fix gantry designs

ie moving tables, the home switch needs to be set up a little differently....
so x, z home is over y home just like a moving gantry but

the home is tripped to back of the table... so x,y,z are all on top
of the same location... else y is homed to the front of x,z the distance of the table away fom the gantry.?

Essentially, all setups of home and limit switches are identical mechanically. They go near the end of travel of your axis. How you physically trip the switch is up to your application. In the case of a traveling table, I'd suggest that the home location be set with the table farthest forward on the machine, with the cutter at the back edge. The machine I used to program on was set that way. Y axis on the gantry would home to the right side, where the control station was, and Z was with the tool plate raised all the way. This facilitates easy table loading and tool changes.
