The next router I am building uses the vee bearing design (Bishop-Wisecarver) but I couldnt belive they got $30 for each bearing!!! If I would have went with them I would have had to shell out $480 for bearings alone, as I have a budget I have to adhere to I couldnt justify that. So I made my own. You need a metal lathe to make these but here is my version using Delrin and roller blade bearings. They also get I belive $166 for 6 feet of the track again a no go for me. My version is 1/2 x 1 aluminum. Used a table saw to cut the top bevel and side step for mounting. Note: the bevel cut it straight off the table saw and needs some 220 grit sanding to clean it up some.
I will be starting a new build log this weekend if I can get some time, always busy doing something....

What are you planning on routing? If it is wood, just ignore the rest of this paragraph. The lack of ground bearings may be a problem with precision. This problem could be much more than the lack of precision introduced by rolled screws (.004/ft)
I would think plastic guide wheels would wear fairly quickly on a rough cut surface. What are you going to do for bushings? The combination of concentric and eccentric bushings will allow you to adjust the guides but are about $5 a set.
Why do you need so many bearing surfaces? Do you have a sketch of your design?

wood or plastics are all i'm going to be doing with the router. The rail that you see there still need to be sanded to take out the rough spots from cutting the bevel on the table saw. My design uses 4 bearings on each side for the X, 4 for the y and 4 for the z or 16 bearings totoal. I have the design partially drawn up in Rhino in 3d and i'll post that to my build log some time tonight.

Can you label them on your site with the standard size designations? #1, #2, #3, and #4?
#2 are the most common, but I'd like to see #3 size as well.
Are they interchangeable with Bishop Wisecarvers?
Will you carry the eccentric a,d concentric bushings?
