    RS-232 Set Up SL-3 Yas LX-1

    Does anybody have the Config for the cable and the parameters ie baud rate stop bits end of line tag if it needs it also ISO or EIA parity Data bits. Basically all the comm parameters. I'm sitting here on a Sunday typing in a long program thinking why am I doing this. Any help will be appreciated. Tim Precision Performance

    You can use the following cable:

    Yasnac <-------------> PC (DB-9)

    1 <------- shield ----- (no connection)
    2 <--------------------> 2
    3 <--------------------> 3
    4 & 5 Jumpered (CNC end only)
    6, 8 & 20 Jumpered (CNC end only)
    7 <--------------------> 5

    Settings

    #6003 bits 0 & 1 set the input device.
    #6003 bits 4 & 5 set the output device.

    ( setting 6003 )
    7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0
    ? ? 0 1 ? ? 0 1

    #6028 bit 6 should be 1

    #6026 bits 0,1,2,3 set the baud rate (1001 = 4800 baud).
    #6026 bit 4 sets the stop bits (0=1, 1=2).
    #6026 bit 5 sets handshaking (0= no control codes, 1=control codes).

    For 4800 baud, 1 stop bit, + control codes:

    ( setting 6026 )
    7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0
    ? ? 1 0 1 0 0 1

    Thanx Coupar

    Worked fine only problem after changing parameters I left the switch on parameter and when I sent the program out to the machine it overwrote all the parameters. Do you have access to a copy of the original parameters. I have all the user parameters 6000-8000 there must be some missing still because i get memory full when i put in a program number. Also the spindle drive is unresponsive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tim @ Precision Performance
