Sorry if this is in the wrong section here.
I was thinking of building a cnc milling machine and i was wondering would one of those usb adapters into parallel port work?
My laptop dont have the actual parallel port only 2 usb ports.

So Would an Expresscard adapter work? Or does it have to be completely straight into parallel?
If it does need to be parallel whats a good solution to this no port problem?
Nuzzget,
This has worked for several members with notebooks.

Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
Νο usb adapter will work for cnc.
Those adapters only provide a "fake" parallel port for printers.
On the other hand, most pcmia cards will work.
To verify the compatibility, go to the device manager and check the ports section. If it says usb printing service or something...it won't work.
