    help with mach3

what i want to do is make my z axis move the z axes a different amount.
ie: the gcode tells it to move say 1mm,
well the piece of stock that the part is to be cut from is 10mm thick,
so you can see what will happen.

is there a way to do that without editing the gcode or not
also how do i offset for useing different size cutting bit?
    thanks in advance

Do you want to use the same g-code to cut parts of different thickness? You can use the Multi Pass wizard, which will actually create a new program with multiple passes.

Or, you can create your g-code for the thickest parts you'll run, and use that for all of them.

As for offsets, how are you creating your code? You can offset it in your CAD program, or let your CAM program do it. Or, you can use G41/G42 cutter comp. For cutter comp, you'll need lead in and lead out moves for it to work correctly.

Tool radius compensation. There's some info on it in the manual.
