    RS232-SHIELD

    FRIENDS,

    I HAVE CONNECTED THE SHIELD TO BOTH THE CASINGS OF THE 9PIN FEMALE & 25 PIN MALE 'D' TYPE CONNECTOR IN MY RS232 CABLE WHICH IAM USING FOR FANUC -OM SERIES CONTROLLERS.

    IS IT O.K.& ADVISABLE.

    No. That gives you a ground loop. Connect shield to the controller side only.

    Fanuc cable

    Agree to nwrepair1, see added Fanuc Cable construction sheet.
