How do you go about running two steppers on the same axis ? would you use the fourth axis on say a hobbycnc board and wire both in parrallel

In TurboCNC, you can set both axis to be X. But I don't think the jog will work if you do that.
Another option is 2 connect both axis step and direction to the same pins for both axis.

I believe xairflyer wants to run two steppers from one servo amp. If the servo amp can handle the additional current requirements you could parallel the winding of two identical motors....the big problem is that the motor characteristics must be identical....you may also find that if you are trying to drive to screws that are mechanicall coupled via a table/gantry, etc. you may run into some "racking" due to the variation in the screws and in the small difference in stepping speed due to some stepper tolerance variation....
Why do you want to do this?
I don't think so, because he asks if you would use the 4th axis on the driver board.
