    Cut hardwoods?

I am seriously debating building the 2006 R-2 CNC but have some general questions about the materials it cuts, or should I say cuts well.

I am interested in doing some of the portrait style cuts with V-carve into woods like oak, birch, and cherry. I have looked at several examples of what people have cut, but not really seeing any done in those materials.

Any input on what woods the CNC router seems to do well in, I am very interested. I am sure the actual router and bits you use are a major factor on how well it works as well.

    Ok - WOW, nevermind.

I just now noticed the "Completed Work Pieces" above. That looks like a fair amount of hardwood work has been done.

    Thanks
