Hi All,

I am in the process of building a CNC router and wish to get a jump on learning a bit about the software I will be using. I plan to use Mach 3 for running the G code, however I am looking for a good application for converting a raster image to a vector image, that I can then import to Autocad.

The Lazy CAM that comes with Mach 3 does not seem to be a real mature program, so I am looking for other suggestions.

I may be in the wrong forum, if so please let me know or point me in the right direction.

Inkscape is what a lot of people use. And it's free.

A late reply (I just now noticed the Mach forum here ) but Wintopo also has a freeware version: http://www.wintopo.com/wintopo-free.htm . I started with the free version and liked it so much I bought the commercial version.
