is plasma cut the good cutting method for 2mm hole?

I need to cut many holes is some hollow 316L stainless steel ball.

    The thickness is 1.5 mm.

Today, I ask a subcontrator to do those holes for me. They use laser cutting.

I plan to make a machine for the motion of the ball. But wonder if I can get the same quality of cut than laser?
I need a 100% burr free cutting methode because the part is for some kind of food machinery and the inner surface need to stay clean (we fill the ball with sand before laser cutting to protect it).

Is there any other suitable methode (other than laser and plasma)?

You will be struggling to cut a 2mm hole with plasma
A pierce hole is about 2.5 - 3mm in diameter

Holes smaller than about 3.5 to 4mm are not good applications for plasma....
