    B axis rotation formula.

    My mind has gone blank!!

Say I want to drill a hole at 45 deg.

Assume that the component is set up at machine-x0 y0 and the hole being drilled is lined up along y0.

B0 is the front of the part and the hole being drilled is at B45.

When using a horizontal machining centre, the tombstone pivots around the centre of the tombstone.

If you then have a fixture on the tombstone and then the component then the co-ordinate of the hole could be at say Z300.

This means that when you rotate around to B45 the component is not rotating around the centre.

Using trig calculations how do you arrive at the new x and z co-ordinates.

There is an excel based calc on the internet but you have to pay for it called 'fixture offset calculator'

If anyone has a freebie thaen that would be great.

    Hope I have explained this.
