    Model creating

    As my learing curve goes forward I figured it is time to learn modeling to use in ArtCAM.
    What software do you fing easiest to create models for carving and bring it to create tool paths and g-code generation. I do realize that ArtCAM has capability to do models and everybody has preferences.

    Imo, the main reason for using ArtCAM would be for it's modeling (or relief) capabilities. If you're going to model in something else, You can get the same results using Cut3D or MeshCAM for 5% of the price.

    I agree with ger21. But to covert an image to a relief you may
    find a good photo shop software helpful in smoothing the colors
    to make a better relief. There's also something called an "alpha map"
    see attached image. Which looks like it could be awesome.
    Haven't found much more than general information. Would like
    to know what software it was done on. Good luck.:cheers:
