I'm getting a 100watt laser with a power supply, my question is do I need 220v to run it or will 110v volt work? I'm thinking that with 110v the power supply will not develope enough power to create 100watt? Inlighten me please.

Don't worry Power supply of EQUIPMENT and power supply of LASER is two different items. Your laser will give you 100Wt ofpower on 110 V of electricity

Litografa is correct. It is no different to a 100W light bulb, yes the voltage is much higher but the current is proportionally lower - so the power is the same. Now of course a 100W output laser requires considerably more input power due to losses in converting the energy but still only requires milliamps at it's arc voltage of 12-15kV.

The input requirements however depend on your power supply, if it accepts 110v you'll get the correct output. If it has 220-240v input then you'll need either a step up transformer or a 220v connection.

when you buy the power supply, you should tell your supplier your electric situation:
220v/110v, 60Hz/50Hz.

And you should tell them your plug style, for example: European style, USA style, UK style. But i think a responsible supplier should check these with you before delivery.

Litografa is correct. Do not worry about the 110v.
