I have a 1995 Fadal vmc 15xt, I have had some people trying to help me get this running, so I am not sure if this is a problem that was created due to inexperience. The message that I get on start up is

Must enter the backlash table

Have a version upgrade or memory has been corrupted memory needs to be zeroed.


Also when I go to the BL command nothing happens.

The BL command is not show a backlash table because the table does not exist. Also the error message is saying that your memory is corrupted. Follow the attached procedure to correct both issues.

I have kind of the same problem.
My CNC is a Fadal VMC 15 the last time I upgrade the memory was on 1996.
My display show this message:
"YOU HAVE A VERSION UPGRADE OR MEMORY HAS BEEN CORRUPTED"
"MEMORY NEEDS TO BE ZEROED"

Hi, did you got this sorted out? I have the same issue, and nothing is moving on the machine not a single axis, and jog is not possible.

Yes I've got the answer is a really stupid thing but worked for me I hope you have the same luck!!!!

The parameter for "ballscrew pitch" is set wrong. At ENTER NEXT COMMAND, type SETP, hit the space bar (or P key) to page 3, use the enter key to move the asterisk to the ballscrew pitch parameter, change it to INCH. Power cycle the machine.
