I hope you have seen my build - what happens with your and my setup is that as we start inchreasing the height of the gntry the whole thing begins to shudder when there is sudden change of direction.

I am most worried taht you will face the same problem, then ou will have to reduce the speed at which you are running your router.

pls do reconsider and do necessary changes before its too late.

believe me - you will be much happier.

there are a couple of Australian builds you can probably look at - http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...t=71219&page=3

My datacut machine shutters when I change direction. It has a 80lb gantry, so no wonder why.

    http://www.data-cut.com/router.html

All I did was add a few cross braces and adjusted the deceleration/acceleration. The shutter is reduced and does not present an issue. Chris the builder of the original datacut says his shutters and it has not caused any kind of a problem in the 4-5 years he has been running it.

First of all the machine looks great.

Secondly, to my untrained eye the sides of the gantry look very thin compared to the rest of the machine. I'm not sure if it's just me but it looks as if they will flex a bit.

I always wanted to know where you get the metal for the machine. I tried some metal manufacturers but the metal is very expensive.

So can you give some info on where to get some aluminum supports?

Machine is made for wood carvings, 3d and stuff. ALU is hardest material i will use. Rosfrai and other things are just me testing
