    Convert MT-2 to MT-3 or R8

I have a LMS KX1 mill which has a MT-2 taper spindle. I would like to build an ATC using the TTS tooling so I need to have a R8 or MT-3 taper spindle.

Does anyone know whether it is possible (and how) to change the spindle on my KX1 to something compatible with TTS tooling?

    Thanks

Cut your losses now, sell the KX1 and get a larger mill like maybe the Novakon NM-35.

    Hi CR,
I do have a Novakon NM-135 coming in December, but I was thinking of keeping the KX1 to "experiment" with.

You have already outgrown the KX1-whether you realize it or not. Adding money to try to make this small machine into something it is not, is just going to lose you money that would apply to purchasing the inevitable larger machine.

Not only that, but your upgrade efforts MIGHT even reduce resale value.

Ok, I was answering the original question before you edited it. If you can afford to experiment with KX1 then by all means--Enjoy!
