    help with speeds & feed

hi everyone, i am running a cnc miller cutting aluminium 6082. what would be the best speeds and feeds for finishing cuts using a solid carbide 8mm ball nose at approx .1mm cuts

    m/c spec
    12000 max rpm
    feedrate 12700 mm/min max

plus any info regarding better cutters to use for finishing ops using the same m/c

at the moment my finish is not the best and its time consuming
been out of the game for 4yrs, not machined much alli in the past!! any help would be much appreciated
    many thanks

Since its a ballnose with only 0.1mm DOC, you have a different effective diameter than 8mm. The diameter at that DOC is only about 1.8mm.

I make that as a 12000 rpm and maybe 300-340 mm/min feedrate using G-Wizard. You may be able to get more feed, but experiment to see what the finish looks like.

    Cheers,
