Two hex bolts on the side of the base. Loosen till they are free. Should be 1/2 turn.

I have a programmable tailstock and have no bolts to loosen on a crown L1420. Try to use the quill to push it.

Seriously turn caps lock off, I will not respond to another one of your posts if you don't, loosen the bolts, use a strap around the back of TS, connected to a bar holder or something on the turret and handle jog it forward, if you get an alarm something is wrong.

    Then repost NOT in caps.

On my Okuma, loosen the tool bolts on the bottom. It has tow along feature on it, a little button on the front. Line up the turret with this, push the button in and it will lock in place, then just drag ot along with the hand wheel to where you want it, back it off a little and release the button
