Machine Tools Warehouse IH Clone Stand...anybody got one?

I stumbled upon this tonight...I'm sure it's been brought up before. I think IH use to offer something like this back when it was Aaron's show. Anybody got one?

Thoughts, comments, innuendo? For $150 CDN ($142'ish US) seems reasonable...not sure what I'd get dinged for shipping though...

    Shev,

It is a sturdy, nicely finished stand.

    Machine Tools Warehouse is awesome.

My IH mill is in route right now... and I'm either going to build a stand or buy one. I talked to Tommy today about this stand here... he told me in full CNC mode it will not be stable on this stand.... unless it's bolted solidly to the floor.

Man it sure looks like Loady used a similar stand for his...I kinda like how "simple" his enclosure turned out using a similar stand...

I won't be getting my mill till the middle/end of January and I was hoping this could at least be a temporary stand until I figure out what the hell I'm going to about a stand & enclosure.

ps~congrats on your mill being in transit william...I'm intentionally trying not to get too excited since I've got another month or so before I get mine...

The other cool thing about my mill... I had Tommy build me a 5 axis one!

Two rotary tables... I have to build the trunion for the rotary's... but can't wait!

I've got that stand. It's a very decent stand.

I welded together a much sturdier one:

the stand is fine. i run my cnc on it. i did however add two outriggers at the bottom where the fork holes are. i used some 2x3 rectangular tubing and got some adjustable screw on feet. level the stand and then snug the feet to the ground. no issues and no worries about tipping over.

You could probably put my Lagun on that! Nice stand.

Runner4404spd outrigger idea is a perfect solution.

It is impossible to tip it once you extend the feet "outrigger" beyond the table travel.

Promised my wife I'd get her more room in the cellar so it'll mean moving the mill and cutting about 6' off my built-in work bench to accomodate the mill in it's new location.

Decided though that instead of the welded tube base it's on I'd build a masonry block base with concrete & bar in the voids, etc., etc. directly on the floor.

Then either tile it or perhaps a nice veneer stone.

Let the next poor schmuck figure out what to do with it.:devious:
