    Yaskawa Servopak SGDH

Can an SGDH Servopack drive a three phase motor or does it have to
drive a matched servo? I have a Mazak VQC 20/40 that I want to retrofit
and want to drive the spindle.

    Yaskawa SGDH

I think you would be MUCH better off buying a nice sensorless vector drive for your Mitsubishi spindle motor (assuming is is an induction motor). Mitsubishi made DC motors for spindles in the past too.

The Yaskawa servo drive is VERY much dependent on being perfectly matched to a Yaskawa BRUSHLESS Servo motor. I've never heard of anyone successfully running anything else with this drive.
