Bridgeport BTC Boss 7 Really as bad as this thing makes it sound: See link

    http://www.machinemanuals.net/web_pa...boss_7_btc.htm

This makes the BTC Bridgeport Boss 7 sound like the Bridgeport sent from hell.

Is it really as bad as this makes it sound. They list things tool changer. From what I've read this is supposedly true. But stripped gears, does that mean in the tool changer or in the machine's CNC gear drives?

Seems like I've seen some here who've had luck with them but that link is scaring me. I'm curious what others have something to say confirming or otherwise on what this review of the Boss 7 is saying.

The other thing... does anyone know the X,Y, Z travel this machine has?

    thanks!

    Hi 777funk

They are only talking about the tool changer which you can take off & give to the scrap man yes they were as bad as that, but the machine it self are very good, your table travel I think is 30"x15"x5" on the z axes, but if you are doing woodwork this is not the machine for you, you could do some woodmilling but this is a machine for cutting steel, aluminum etc

Yes, I have worked on many and kept them alive. There are a lot of switches, and solenoids that were problematic. And honestly, the last one I worked on was in Tennessee and that was about 17 years ago and I am glad. As I said there is a very big discussion about these machines in this web site. They can be kept working but it is a loabor of love.
