Greetings, I've been tasked with upgrading a 15 y/o SLS ( Selective Laser Sintering) machine with current hardware and software technologies. I'm stuck on finding a software vendor that will commit to their product producing the tool paths needed in an application that adds, rather than removes, material to create a part... maybe I'm just asking the wrong questions. I'm hoping somebody here can make recommendations. The client designs in solidworks and also scans parts, the system currently uses a proprietary application to convert .stl files to Galil DMC programs, and the GUI is also proprietary. Our objective is to replace all of the proprietary nonsense with commercially available software that will output gcode to any of the many available PC based CNC solutions available.

Anybody been down this road?

By the way, this is seriously butt-kicking forum - never seen one so well indexed - very cool!
