x3 or machine tool warehouse md003

    hello
i am planing to purchase my first milling machine and i would like some advice

my budget allowed me to either get an x3 clone from grizzly or and md003 or md003plus from machine tool warehouse

i know that the sieg machine have an excellent reputation

but does anyone have some feedback about the machine tool warehouse md003 line of machines

they seam to be comparable in size but the md003 is a heavier machine

    thanx for the help

Hi CM. Welcome to the Zone!

If you don't mind the wait, you might also want to consider the new Grizzly G0704:

    interesting i missed that one
    thank

y i mentioned the wieight of the md003 is because many old machinist i spoke to told me that a a heavier machine is more rigid hence tighter

if the md003 is as good as it's big brother md001 witch seams to be a IH mill then
it's good value for the money

The G0704 is a BF 20 LV which is similar to this one https://www.machinetoolswarehouse.co...L-p-16277.html.

I thought they were the same but the Grizzly version seems to have a bigger table and is a bit heavier....

I don't have any direct experience with either mill. There is an ongoing thread regarding the Grizzly though. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96443 As well there area a couple of threads regarding Weiss mills.
