Which HF plasma cutter? Is it a high frequency start or is it a contact start?

Seems like I read somewhere that it is a high frequency machine but I am not sure. Here is the manual. http://images.harborfreight.com/manu...7999/97994.pdf I read through it but I don't know how to determine if it is.
What would indicate that it is or not?
It talks about a pilot arc but (in typical Chinese Manual fashion) uses the word "contact" the metal in the same sentence. 50/50 chance. It's for cutting really thin material (max of 1/8"). HF stuff should be considered as having "NO Support". About all you can do is take it back to a store and get another one. I would consider something like the Everlast cutters that at least have better written manuals and do state they use HF start if cost is the final factor. Another question to ask is what is the availability and cost of the consumables. You will be changing them often so you need a ready source.

It looks like a non high frequency start system....the torch resembles a Trafimet (Italian) torch design which is a rough copy of the original blowback start torces that Hypertherm produced about 15 years ago. I would be concerned with the performance and the safety of this unit......very little information in the manual.....nothing about, operating temperature, output kW.....no schematics, no cut charts. It also has a maximum output of 13 amps......which is good for cutting up to 1/8"......can possibly sever 3/16" material. Duty cycle is 40%.
Hypertherms smallest unit produces 30 Amps output, can sever ovr 1/2" materials, has higher duty cycle ratings....made in USA. Can be had for about $1000. I've seen a few used ones in the $600 range.
