    G540 IEC Plug Fuse

What is the correct size fuse to use on the AC side to protect the G540 in a controller box?

My IEC plug had a 1.5 amp 250 volt fuse which was fine powering up the power supply but once I hooked up the G540 and turned the power on, the fuse blew.

I rechecked my wiring. Everything was correct. I disconnected the G540, replaced the fuse, powered on the power supply all was fine again. Replaced the fuse again (same 1.5A rating), reconnected the G540 and blew the fuse again when I powered up the box...

Is the 1.5 amp fuse too small? Its an old computer SCSI drive case...

    Question

Are you sure you have the power supply connected to the G540 correctly?

    Question

The G540 may draw almost 7 amps, what is the output of your power supply?

    I'm using a Keling power supply (KL-350-48) 48V/7.3A

I wired everything per the wiring diagram supplied by homanndesigns:

The fuse should be at least 6.5 amp if you are connecting to 120 volts A.C.

The 1.5 amp fuse is far to small.

    Your wiring looks fine.
