    1400 watt UPS's

    I have 3 I am about to trash at work, anything usuable or worth keeping out of them?

    You might get some nice heatsinks, depends on the unit but you might get some reasonable IGBT's or at least some good Fet's, caps are usually not very high as far as farad's go, but possibly high voltage, could be useful.

    Fan (s), don't forget the input/output power connectors, handy for cnc power supplies, we have the IEC type here, dunno what you have there, sure they are worth saving. Leads supplied with the unit are always good.

    That's about all I can think of.

    why not just change the batteries in them, you can get the gell cells at home depot even. Or are you simply replacing them with larger newer units.

    A few inductors might be worth salvaging. Specs can be hard to get though.

    Otherwise I'm with erase42... just get new batteries cheap and easy way to get decent backup for your home comuputer(or CNC )

    heck or even a nice power outage proof lamp is nice to have sometimes. I live in Florida, hurricanes you know.

    Yeah we upgraded to 160kva here, so these littles are not use, and do not work. Probably just need batteries. I will check on that, can always use one at home.
