Hi All,
I purchased my first Haas recently. I was able to power it up and run tool changes just a few days ago, but all of a sudden I have errors preventing me from getting past the Power Up button press step.
I haven't run any programs on it and nothing was done between the last time it was powered down after working, and now that it has the alarms.
It's a 2017 DM-2 with a nextgen controller. I have the 4th axis upgrade, but no rotary, and the 4th axis is disabled in the setup.
When turning on the machine, I get the following alarms:
- 5.9959 A SERIAL ENCODER CABLE FAULT
- 5.217 A AXIS PHASING ERROR
I had a technician out to look at it and he thinks it is trying to access the rotary, even though we don't have a rotary and the 4th axis is disabled in the software.
He said I likely need to get Haas out here to update the software. Haas wants $1k and cannot get anyone out here for 3 weeks, so I'm trying to do my due diligence in case I can fix it.
Nothing was done to the machine between when I had it powering up, and these new alarms.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can troubleshoot or fix this alarm?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
