You'll never see a VFD mounted outside of the cabinet on an industrial router.
I would always use shielded cable for the spindle, limit and home switches.

Agree with Ger21, you should always use shielded wire, if you are using a VFD and Spindle they generate a huge amount of EMI and your will have nothing but trouble with false e-stops and everything else if you fail to use shielded cables and proper grounding.

The spindle mount just arrived. I'm now 5 minutes closer to finishing - LOL! That's all it took to mount this, so while I can't run without it I figure I've only gained 5 minutes.
