I bought a used CNC 3020 and hooked everything up and it is not working properly. First of all, when I flip the red power switch on the black 3 axis controller, the spindle comes on and spins at max rpm speed. I have checked and rechecked the cables and the other buttons but nothing works except the red power button. Second, the reset button on MACH3 is flashing and can not be shut off. Does anyone have any ideas???? If not does anyone know of a replacement controller that is available somewhere? I have looked on ebay and elsewhere but it seems these units are only sold as a set.

Who did you buy this from? Did they say it was working, or guarantee it would work? Can you get any help from them in setting it up, or get them to take it back and refund your money?

What kind of computer are you using with it? What OS? Does it have a parallel port or are you running it with USB? Usually when the reset in Mach3 won't stop blinking, it means that it's not detecting the CNC machine.

If all else fails, you can replace the electronics, but that takes work and money. On the other hand, if you get something good, it will work better than with the original controller.

If you are using this with a parallel port and Mach3 , you must use 32 bit operating system as a PC won't run this on a 64 bit OS, If you are running 32bit OS first turn the E-Stop button clockwise and see if the reset button on Mach3 stops flashing. You must also set up on you PC within Mach 3 the reset button requirements as well as all the stepper motor ports etc before it will run properly.

Depends where you are, what country, most have to do some rewiring of the control, you should start with the Ground wiring, that may be missing
