Does anyone know of a recomended tool engagement setting list or calculator? Or even a suggested formula?

I'm roughing a 3D contour in D-2, using a .75" carbide rougher and can't seem to get a smooth engagement slope. Speeds and feeds are correct because once it reaches depth, it hums nicely, but during every engagement it squeals and chatters something awful! I've tried everything from 20 degrees to 5 degrees to no avail. My cam software won't allow me to start the tool off of the workpiece, so I'm kind of stuck.

Any advice is appreciated!

Please do not be offended by this, but is the roughing end mill a bottom-cutting, or center cutting end mill?

I once had a terrible experience trying to plunge with O-flute cutters.
