Heres a guitar I modeled in rhino, it needed to be thicker then an electrical guitar, but the shape is the same as an electrical guitar. But it wouldn’t be hard at all to make the exact model of an electrical guitar in rhino. One thing to take into consideration with rhino when doing fillets is the begin process of building your curves, once I built my curves I’ve changed the degree and tolerance and then rebuild them before I extrude them. With out doing this you might have some trouble using fillet surface command; also you can try to use the fillet edge command as well. I'm still learning rhino, but you need any help with rhino let me know.

    Best regards,

Slpd, heres the method I used.
First I traced a electric guitar on a piece of 22*17* quadrille ¼ “ grid paper. Then I setup a coordinate system, and type all the points into a text file. The in rhino I setup my grid so it was ¼” just like the paper I used. Then I used the ReadCommandFile command and imported my data as points. Then I used InterpCrv (with onsnap to point) and I did some fine toning with a few other different curves. Once I had the shape the way I wanted it I changed the degree of the curves so it all had the same degree, then I joined them and rebuilt them, and that’s what gave me my spline to work with. From there I created my surfaces.

I try to check out the cnczone every time I have a change. But if you can’t find me here you can find me at http://www.rhino3dforums.com/ I’m the admin there so I'm there often. So if you need any help with doing this in rhino feel free to reach me there

    Best regards,
    Mark

Do you want to rotate something? Use ROTATE3D. Are you using solids, meshes? How about a screen shot of what you're trying to do. A little more info and I'll try to help you out.

I have created a guitar neck with a headstock on the 2D plane and need to rotate the headstock 14 degrees so I can extrude it to thickness.

You need to extrude it first, then rotate it. It's much easier that way. Exturde it, then change to an isometric view (View>3D views>)and use rotate 3d. Follow the command line, or look at the help file. There are a few options to the rotate3d command. If you have any more questions, let me know.

it has to be a closed polyline to extrude. You can close it with pedit, or in the properties dialog box. You can also make it a region with the region command. Regions can also contain both splines and polylines, so you have more options.

Ahh... Not quite, although I love the Ibanez Model. It's more of a sculpted version of a PRS meets Les Paul look.

    Here's another look:

And one more from the bottom:

Right now I am working on jig to flip the piece for both sides. I think I will use a sacrificial base with for alignment pegs. Any other suggestions?
