Have a look in the Machinist's handbook for the formulae to calculate a sprocket tooth form.
BTW... you generally need more information re the chain specs, to be able to draw a sprocket.
Number of teeth.
Roller Diameter of the chain.
Chain pitch.
When you state "530 pitch sprocket" what are you referring to with 530?

I have used the attached spreadsheet to do the calculations for simple sprockets for years.
Never had any issues with the profile having problems in service...(well...so far!)
To draw a sprocket using the information from the spreadsheet, I create the circular disk first then create a sketch on the face of the disk representing the "Extrude Cut" of the tooth gap.
Follow the point locations as calculated and then "cut" the tooth gap.
Once you have the gap, create a circular array of the gaps to create the required number of teeth.
Cheers
Brian.

maybe this time the attachment will work?

I haven't spent too much time with solidworks for a while, but I am pretty sure you can import a DXF to extrude from. Here is a program I have used in the past to make sprockets on my plasma table, it works great.

Sir,
This is small introduction about me …… graduate ….. Working as consultant for product designer and automation solution ….. Please visit my web site MechanicalDesignSoftware - Folder Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage to see my design related work….I wish to offer my services on consultancy basis …… use solidworks for designing and analysis purpose ….. Will be very happy to have association with you.
Thank you,
Mahesh Deshmukh
Not sure if this can be used for "technical" solutions (it is focussed on making meshed gears that work together), but it may have chain/sprocket functionality as well... In any case, a great program, and free for the moment...
