5x10 self leveling adjustable table surface

objective: 5x10 router table made from 8020 extrusion To be automated and full adjustable from 0" to 20" heights
to be used for a lathe for varries diameter stock heights.

The design would have the outer corner legs ....to house servo or stepper motors within the leg...
with U shape opening in the leg cavity to unclose the ballscrews and linear slides
    into the legs.

1.) Frist question can emc or mach3 or 4 read Glass Scale Linear Encoder for DRO Digital Readout
likes these and display the value ?

    2. Anyone have sample code for multiple z axis , i would modify to auto level the table for inital setup only.

    3. Anyone know if this would be easyer to do in emc (9 axis) vs mach3 (5 axis vs swap axis programing required etc )

    I'm confused.

Why do you need a 5x10 (foot?) table for a lathe?

You never seen a seen a 4x10 router table with atc changer and lathe ?...
I require..significant head stock and tail stock room... which can accomdate 12"x8' columns lengths.
I have some serious wood working needs . Often at times I use 4'x10 structural grade
    plywood.

Why not just have your gantry extend over one side of the router table and have your rotary axis there instead of moving the whole table.

    Ah, a router with a 4th.

I agree that having the spindle extend over the side of the table (either at side or front or back) with 4th axis there will be best. Vastly more rigid, easier, cheaper.

That works if your doing a lot small batch lathe work. The above design wouldnt handle my needs.

    Heres why...

I need a lathe that can complete finished turnings under 5 mins with mulituple Vee Vertical cutters ( course and finish cut in one step operation)
The Perpendicular gantry cantilever is great idea for small foot print for single head cutters .... but the design does not easy adapt to multiple cutters or bits
bits for my needs. see video attached.

Im designing a table top to handle both parallel and Perpendicular lathe setups to the gantry, Thus the need for height adjustable bed, to use my cnc as a traditional cnc, and advanced multi Z axis lathe.

Why should I waste valuable floor space when I can have a multi purpose cnc tool,

A basic cnc lathe cant do 5 Axis Simultaneous Multihead turing or carving

When I can design and built a multi- function cnc ( 3,4,5 axis platform ) that does what I need it to do for my needs?
